Delta is planning a relaunch of a number of its Caribbean flight routes in June, Caribbean Journalhas learned. 

After operating just a handful of routes to the Caribbean in May, Delta Air Lines is planning to operate a total of 16 flights to the wider region next month. 

It should be noted that some of the destinations have not yet announced official tourism reopenings (Saint Lucia just announced an official reopening of tourism for June 4).

With the exception of three routes from New York, all of the service is being operated out of Delta’s hub in Atlanta.

Jamaica has revealed what officials are calling a “five-point plan” for the recovery of the island’s crucial tourism sector. 

The plan includes a “staggered reopening” of tourism entities, according to Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett.

The Bahamas government says it is looking at the possibility of allowing commercial travel into the archipelago on or before July 1, but insisted that the date was not final and would depend on the current state of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.
