The Bahamas has signed an air services agreement with the government of Qatar.

Bahamas Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Chester Cooper and Minister of Transport Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti signed the agreement, part of a broader plan for Qatar’s national carrier, Qatar Airways, to fly to more global destinations.

The St Martin-St Barth-Anguilla triangle is home to some of the most luxurious villas and resorts in all of the Caribbean. 

But getting to St Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport isn’t quite so luxurious an experience, even if you’re in business class on major carriers like American Airlines or United. 

But La Compagnie, the company that famously introduced all business-class flights between New York and Paris, is looking to change that. 

The airline, in partnership with a travel company called Travel in Style Journeys, will be launching business class-only service between Newark and St Martin this fall.

The BVI is also renowned for its tourist attractions and well-­trodden paths, which is why, on a recent charter, our group of experienced charterers intentionally strayed from the familiar hotspots. In doing so, we found a side of the BVI that produced memories and stories anew. These newfound (to us) destinations offered a fresh glimpse into the singular charm of the BVI, which are just waiting to be discovered by intrepid souls who dare to look a little farther.
