Tourism in the Caribbean rebounded in 2022 after the pandemic with historical figures on the Mexican beaches of Cancun, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico.

The Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic registered 7.1 million tourists by air and 1.3 million by cruise, which exceeded the pre-pandemic level and reached record numbers in 2022, the year in which the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) recognized it for its “exemplary” tourist recovery.

CARIBBEAN'S PREMIER COFFEE FESTIVAL

The Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee festival takes place in the hills of the world renowned Blue Mountains on the historic Newcastle Parade Grounds. It is a one of a kind experience that celebrates COFFEE, CULTURE and COMMUNITY and showcases a range of coffee purveyors, local manufacturers, artisans, food tastings, cooking demonstrations, live entertainment, baristas and mixologists and more!

Organized by the Tourism Linkages Network, a department of the Tourism Enhancement Fund, the festival is designed as Jamaica’s flagship coffee experience, demonstrating our rich tradition of coffee production while showcasing Blue Mountain Coffee, and the diversity of coffee through coffee-related products and experiences.

Canadian ultra-low-cost carrier Swoop has restarted another route to Jamaica for the winter season, Caribbean Journal has learned. 

The airline has officially resumed its weekly nonstop service between Hamilton, Ontario and Montego Bay, Jamaica.
