How many of us are talking to our tech on a regular basis?

Ken Olmstead at the Pew Research Center recently highlighted the fact that nearly half of U.S. adults (46 percent) say they use voice-controlled assistants and applications to interact with smartphones and other devices.

Just over half (55 percent) say “a major reason” they use voice assistants is to permit hands-free interaction with devices.

The Pew study affirmed that voice assistant technology is being widely used to remotely control connected systems, including “smart home” lighting and heating devices. In fact, more than a quarter (26 percent) surveyed use voice assistants to connect remotely to those apps and devices.

The US Coast Guard Cutter Eagle, “America’s Tall Ship”, arrived to St Thomas Harbor in the US Virgin Islands on Friday morning and moored at the West India Company dock, where the crew will be offering free public tours through Sunday.

“We couldn’t think of a better place to kick off our 2018 summer than lovely St Thomas,” said Capt. Matt Meilstrup, Commanding Officer of the Eagle. “Many Virgin Islanders have sailed Eagle and served in the Coast Guard. The cadets and crew are eager to experience the warm hospitality, explore the island, and help in the community. We will be open for public tours and we would love to have you see the 82 year old Eagle.”

American Airlines customers will have new options to escape the cold with more seasonal and year-round flights to the Caribbean starting this winter.

The largest airline carrier in the United States has unveiled its newest routes, which include new flights to Aruba from Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport; from Chicago O’Hare International Airport to Cayman Islands, The Bahamas, and Turks and Caicos; and to Eleuthera and Marsh Harbour in The Bahamas from Charlotte Douglas International Airport; and from Miami International Airport to St Vincent and the Grenadines, all beginning December 22.

The romantic island of Aruba is gearing up to host the Caribbean’s largest vow renewal celebration, for the second year in a row, inviting lovebirds from around the globe to “Renew their I Do’s” this summer on the world’s number beach, as ranked by TripAdvisor.

As Aruba’s sun sets on Eagle Beach, on August 22, couples will celebrate their love during Romance Awareness Month.

It’s about to get a whole lot easier to get to the island of Grenada.

A number of airlines are set to launch expanded or new routes to the Spice Isle, beginning with new daily service on JetBlue from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Grenada that will operate between June 21 and Sept. 4.

That service will be accompanied by two new nonstop flights on Caribbean Airlines in August.
