The Caribbean food sector continues to send a strong message to the world that this is, truly, one of the world’s great food regions, with arguably the most diverse cuisine on the planet and an uncanny range of styles and philosophies.

In a boost for locals and visitors to one of the Caribbean’s busiest cruise ports, St Thomas will soon be home to a brand-new cigar lounge. 

It’s called The Pelican Shop, and it will be set in St Thomas’ A.H. Riise Mall in downtown Charlotte Amalie.

Caribbean Airlines has launched its new service between Kingston, Jamaica and Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands. 

The twice-weekly nonstop flight will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays until March 28, 2020, according to the company. 

“Caribbean Airlines has a clear vision to connect the region, which is a major element in strengthening our Caribbean identity,” said Caribbean Airlines CEO, Garvin Medera. “Far too often we have heard how difficult, inconvenient and expensive it is to travel within the region.” 

The flights are part of a concerted effort to grow Jamaica’s Norman Manley Airport in Kingston into a regional hub.

There’s a new craft cocktail bar in the heart of The Bahamas’ most popular destination. 

It’s called Bon Vivants Cafe and Bar, and the new bar is set in Nassau’s Sandyport neighborhood. 

The bar, with a decor featuring oversized rattan chairs, lush wallpaper and a vintage cocktail glass collection, hosts a weekly jazz night on Wednesdays.
