There’s a new Wyndham resort in Curaçao, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Wyndham has continued its Caribbean expansion with the addition of the Kunuku Aqua resort, which has been rebranded as the Kunuku Aqua Resort, Trademark Collection by Wyndham.

The Bahamas and Jamaica are seeing significant jumps in flight bookings, according to a new report from CheapOair on U.S. traveler trends.

The online travel agency’s report showed that The Bahamas and Jamaica have seen among the biggest increases in airline ticket bookings of any international destination.

Overall, American travelers almost doubled bookings to foreign destinations in April compared to January, the company said.

Millions of people who started working from home during the pandemic are likely never going back to the office. Likewise, remote work programs — launched by destinations and resorts to attract untethered but stir-crazy workers are likely to outlast the pandemic as more professionals realize they literally can work from anywhere with good Wi-Fi.

These programs range from The Bahamas’ BEATS program to Aruba’s One Happy Workation.

But if you’re remotely for a week or three months, you’ll still need to find a place to stay — and more and more resorts are offering remote-work programs for precisely that purpose.

The newest resort in St Maarten is set for a June opening, Caribbean Journal has learned. 

The highly-anticipated The Morgan resort is already taking reservations for a June 1, 2021 opening date. 

The hip new resort is set in the heart of Simpson Bay, with 124 rooms and suites overlooking the sea.

Southwest Airlines is set to continue its Caribbean relaunch this summer, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The relaunch is headlined by a major increase in its Cancun service beginning June 12 that will include the return of Saturday-only service from Pittsburgh to Cancun and increases from Austin, Houston and Phoenix to Cancun.

Southwest is also increasing its flight service to Montego Bay, Jamaica this summer.
