There’s another new way to fly to one of the Caribbean’s buzziest destinations: St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands.

JetBlue has officially begun its newest service to St Thomas, with four flights each week from Newark Liberty International Airport and St Thomas.

The new flights, which began July 1, are operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

One of the major all-inclusive hotels in the Dominican Republic has officially reopened, Caribbean Journal has learned. 

The Club Med Miches Playa Esmeralda, the all-inclusive company’s newest Caribbean resort, began welcoming back guests this week. 

“Club Med Miches Playa Esmeralda is officially open,” Club Med said in a statement. 

The property had just opened at the end of 2019 to much acclaim before shuttering just a few months later at the onset of the pandemic.

The world’s largest airline is planing another big expansion to the Caribbean, and it’s not from one of its traditional hubs like Dallas-Fort Worth or Miami. 

American Airlines has big international ambitions in Austin, Texas, with plans to launch new service to a host of Caribbean destinations.

In a significant step for the reopening of its tourism sector, the British Virgin Islands has removed the quarantine requirement for fully vaccinated travelers.

The country had recently eased its regulations, imposing a quarantine for vaccinated travelers only as they await the results of an arrival PCR test.

Under the new rules, vaccinated travelers don’t need to get tested upon arrival. They do, however, still have to show proof of a negative PCR or rapid antigen test within five days before arrival — and show proof of complete vaccination.
