More flights are returning to the Cayman Islands.

American Airlines just launched daily flights between Charlotte and Grand Cayman, with plans to relaunch its Saturday service from Dallas in June.

That complements existing services from Miami to Grand Cayman, which now operates daily (and three times a day on Saturdays).

JetBlue has already relaunched its service from New York’s John F Kennedy Airport, with three flights each week in May and an expansion to four flights each week in June.

There are only a few species so ancient that they can say they watched dinosaurs evolve and then later become extinct. As you start your adventure, your first encounter will take you within feet of some of the most majestic and ancient animals in the world! The Genesis Pond is home to our Green Sea Turtles who have matured and are at or near the age to start reproducing; which is usually at about 16 years of age in captivity. Turtles return to the nesting beaches of their mothers and grandmothers. The beach at the edge of the pond allows female turtles to nest in an environment very similar to the ones they would nest in if they were in the wild.

The Dominican Republic just set another tourism record, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The country reported 626,010 tourist arrivals in April — the most visitors in April in the history of the destination.

That number represents 7 percent more than April 2019 and 13 percent more travelers than April 2018, according to Dominican Republic Tourism Minister David Collado.

“The recovery of tourism is a reality,” Collado said. “We did again. The growth we achieved in April is unprecedented. It is the best April in the history of Dominican tourism.”

Of that number, about 60 percent of visitors arrived through Punta Cana, with 23 percent through Santo Domingo.

It’s yet another record for a destination that has continued to see spectacular numbers so far in 2022.
