Cayman Airways has launched service to its newest destination: the island of Barbados, with weekly scheduled service now directly linking the Owen Roberts International Airport in Grand Cayman with the Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados.  

The inaugural service is the result of a partnership between Cayman Airlines and Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc.

t’s easier than ever to visit the island of Grenada right now, and the island is only making things easier for travelers looking for a fall getaway. 

JetBlue is set to launch new nonstop service to the island in November, and Air Canada is doubling flights from Toronto. 

And Grenada has plans for a big season, with a number of hotels offering special packages for visitors. 

“We are very excited for this upcoming fall and winter season. Our monthly on-island events have the island buzzing and we have several new and improved experiences thanks to our industry partners and the Grenadian people who have worked tirelessly to provide an exceptional experience to those visiting,” said Petra Roach, CEO, Grenada Tourism Authority.

Those traveling to the destination this year can stay and enjoy some of the island’s upcoming events including the Grenada Rugby World 7’s Tournament (November 30 – December 2) and the Carriacou Parang Festival (December 15 – 17).

The Dominican Republic’s “historic” tourism arrivals continue to grow, according to new numbers from the country’s Ministry of Tourism. 

The Dominican Republic reported 478,794 stayover arrivals in September, a whopping 48 percent increase over the same month in 2019, before the pandemic. 

That also represented an 11 percent jump compared to September 2022.

It largely began in the summer of 2022, when Sandals Resorts International opened its first-ever Dutch Caribbean resort in Curacao, and everything seemed to change. 

Almost immediately, the “Sandals Effect” led to record-breaking tourism numbers on the island, particularly from the United States.
