The Dominican Republic’s record-breaking tourism numbers are showing no signs of slowing down, according to newly-released data from the country’s Ministry of Tourism. 

The Dominican Republic reported 531.017 stavover arrivals in October, the most ever for the country in the month of October. 

That represented an 8 percent jump over the same month in 2022, tourism officials said. 

The Dominican Republic also saw strong cruise growth, with 88,187 cruise passengers in the country — meaning a total of just under 1.7 million cruise arrivals so far this year.

Air traffic and tourism numbers for the two biggest islands in the US Virgin Islands continue to show strong growth, according to new data. 

St Thomas is anticipating 25 percent year-over-year growth for the 2023-2024 winter season, as compared to the winter of 2019-20, before the onset of the pandemic.

The Hyatt Regency Aruba is getting a new dining program, following the appointment of Chef Yvan Didelot as its new director of culinary experience and food and beverage operations. 

Didelot will serve as “both a chef and a leader” to elevate the resort’s gastronomic and mixology offerings. 

That will include a significant focus on the Ruinas Del Mar restaurant, the hotel’s signature eatery, along with cultivating new flavors for food and beverages throughout all of the property’s restaurants.
