The Cayman Islands has been announced as the new Milton End sponsor.

And The News understands Pompey have explored the possibility of a pre-season trip to the Caribbean island as part of the link-up.

The Blues have agreed a two-year partnership with the British overseas territory, which will see images and video of the Cayman Islands used on advertising boards and videos played on the big screen housed in the stand.

It’s a leftfield agreement, but one which shows Pompey’s willingness to look towards different areas when it comes to their partnerships and expanding their own reach.

Curaçao’s tourism sector continues to recover, buoyed by a tourism surge in December. 

The Dutch Caribbean island welcomed a total of 265,000 stay over visitor arrivals in 2021, according to new data from the Curacao Tourist Board. 

That represented 57 percent of the island’s pre-pandemic arrivals in 2019, when Curacao welcomed 463,683 visitors.

In a press briefing today, January 20, Kenneth Bryan, Minister for Tourism and Transport indicated that he is very optimistic about the prospects for Cayman's tourism future, stating that the country's move to phase 5 of border reopening, which was made in an effort to be equitable in its regulations with respect to families with children, would result in a rise in family-related tourism.
